My Story

Hi everyone. I'm walking 30k this October to raise money for The Wildlife Trusts to help them on their mission to restore at least 30% of land and sea for nature by 2030.

I'm fortunate to live near and spend many happy weekends literally in the River Ver - a rare chalk stream stretching through stunning Hertfordshire Countryside. Whilst I cannot walk the length of the Ver along the riverbank itself (too many obstacles sadly), it is my intention to walk the length of the river 17.6 miles (just under 30km - so I'll do a bit more too). Along the way, I'll encounter trees, animals, birds and more. You can follow my progress on social media.

Nature is a gift and a blessing but without care, time and investment it will continue to be lost to the ever increasing of the grey concrete sprawl spreading through our green spaces. I'm a father and the most precious inheritance we can leave our children and share with them now is the time, the opportunity and the access to understand, enjoy and breathe in the natural world around them.

The Wildlife Trust share this vision for our children and I'm going to do my best to walk the 30k for them - hopefully with my wife and daughter for some of the way.

All donations, no matter the amount, will be greatly appreciated. xxx
